    According to Kililombe, “Proverbs are a mirror in which a community can look at itself and a    stage on which it exposes itself to others. They describe its values, aspirations, preoccupations and the particular angle from which it sees and appreciates realities, and behaviour. The mentality or way of life of a community is best depicted in proverbs.



    SOME  EJAGHAM PROVERBS AND SAYINGS
      Proverbs on Identity:
Mone njim ebae, mone njim esa, Mone njim jit are nsung.
A child from two lineages, A child from three lineages, A child from one lineage is a slave.
A person is a person because he belongs to multiple families.

      Proverbs on Arbitration:

The head of a home must listen to an issue from both sides
A father of a house must not take side with one child.

The snake on your body is hard to kill.
You cannot be a judge of your own case

Judge every case impartially.

You do not punish a person’s wrongdoing according to its gravity, show mercy.
